September 8, 2025, San Francisco – On Saturday September 20 2025, San Francisco—in tandem with a number of other cities nationwide—will launch The People vs. Project 2025 initiative with a live public action event titled, We Got The Power, to take place at Civic Center Plaza opposite City Hall.

In San Francisco, We Got The Power will will be directed by Bay Area choreographer, performing artist, educator and activist, Eric Ray Kupers. Kupers currently serves as Artistic Director of Dandelion Dancetheater and The Wandering Ensemble.
The program will include a large-scale artist-led public participatory performance that adapts a mix version of the song, The Power by Snap. The event will be video recorded and live-streamed on the following YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@sfiaf
Confirmed artists and ensembles scheduled to perform include: Amos White, Antoinette Payne, Audrey Williams, Basma Edrees, Bellamy Ackrell, Christine Kammler, Dance Brigade, Extinction Rebellion, Genny Lim, James Cagney, Kimi Sugioka, Louise Nayer, Michelle Jacques, Our Teatro/Cosmovisión, Peggy Morrison, The Performance Lab, Shizue Seigel, STEAMROLLER Dance Company, Terry Tierney, Tiny Gray Garcia, Tureeda Mikell, and the Wandering Ensemble. The masters of ceremonies for the event are: Jeff Raz, Lavon Godfrey and Richard Loranger.
We Got The Power will be featured as part of a coordinated national broadcast. Edited versions of the coordinated national actions will be posted to YouTube and other hosted video sites.
The full schedule at Civic Center Plaza is as follows:
10:00 AM : We Got The Power Flash Dance Rehearsals
11:00 AM: Artist Solidarity Procession & Poetry Stage
12:00 PM: We Got The Power Flash Dance & Showcase of Live Performances by Featured Artists.
1:00 PM: End.
The event is presented by Mutually Assured Productions (who also produce the San Francisco International Arts Festival and other local arts events).
