VALUES
What We Stand For

  • We offer an alternative. We actively work to transform the deeper emotional and cultural narratives that Project 2025 uses to exacerbate the fears of some Americans. We craft and amplify alternative perspectives, expanding belonging and agency.

  • We believe in the power of the arts. Art offers healing, understanding, and connection especially during difficult times. Art is an essential part of creating positive change. Artists deserve safety, recognition, and resourcing as part of this struggle.

  • We value democracy. Everyone deserves the right to vote, participate, and be heard in public discourse, decision-making and self expression.

  • We defend Freedom of Expression and The First Amendment. No one should fear retaliation for speaking truth to power or what they believe as long as that expression does not harm others.

  • We celebrate diversity. Unity of spirit does not mean uniformity of response and priorities. We respect  diverse strategies, perspectives, and peoples that reflect the full breadth of our communities.

  • We advocate for equity and justice. We support all people resisting systems of oppression. Our campaign supports racial justice for Black and Indigenous communities and other peoples of color. We are pro-immigrant and pro-worker. We support LGBTQIA+ and gender equity. We support disability justice. We support access to reproductive healthcare and the right to choose.

  • We reject hate.  Project 2025 is built on hate derived from fear, white supremacy, and anti-democratic ideology. We rise in response with radical love, joy, truth, and mutual care inclusively.

  • We believe in science. Science is our best understanding of the natural world and our role as humans. We believe climate change is threatening the earth and humanity and healthcare should be based on scientific study.

  • We believe in free unbiased education. Public education should be separated from any one ideology. Censorship has no place in the classroom.

  • We subscribe to non violent and safe practices. The safety of all participants is paramount, especially those most physically and politically vulnerable. We commit to creating actions in the spirit of solidarity, while acknowledging that not every action is safe for everyone.

  • We act locally and stand in national solidarity. From murals to marches, storytelling circles to pop-up performances, we uplift actions rooted in local context, while joining together in national coordination to fuel cultural change.

  • We recognize that the rise of fascism is not limited to the United States but is a spreading global phenomenon. We stand in solidarity with our fellow artists, creative workers, and those across the world resisting fascism and disinformation.

EVALUATION & FEEDBACK LOOPS
Evaluation is how we learn, evolve and account for the integrity of
The People vs. Project 2025. We strive for a feedback loop that is a reflection of a collective action because when we create, connect, and reflect in solidarity and humility, we strengthen the democratic and cultural future we seek to reclaim. Our evaluation process centers artists and community voices, and cultural impact rather than solely quantitative outcomes.

  • Develop a rhythm of regular reflection through surveys, listening sessions, and check-ins. Use these feedback methods to assess what’s working, what needs adjustment, and where new ideas are emerging.

  • Create channels for community and allies input that inform strategic decisions and reflect the lived experiences of local organizers and participants.

  • Define success metrics that align with the movement’s values and principles, whether in terms of cultural impact, media reach, policy influence, or community transformation. These indicators may include but aren’t limited to:

    • Shifts in narrative or visibility of alternative stories
    • Depth, scope and diversity of participation across communities and geographical regions
    • Growth of partnerships between artists, communities, organizers, and other civic movements
    • Policy or institutional shifts influenced by campaign actions
    • Strengthening of local safety, trust, and creative and political agency

  • Document and share learning to support transparency, deepen trust, and help others replicate or adapt successful models of artists-community partnerships.

  • Celebrate progress and achievement as part of the campaign culture, reinforcing momentum and shared purpose.

  • No local action is too small. Celebration is a practice of joy, healing, and shared purpose and shared experience that sustains resistance and creativity.
