September 20-21

A Prototype Weekend

To inaugurate The People vs. Project 2025, we staged several prototype actions for the weekend of the Autumn Equinox (September 20-21). We used the weekend as an opportunity to experiment with the types of actions we take on and use the events as a way to learn and develop best practices for 2026.

Our list of actions for September 20 - 21 was as follows:

Saturday September 20 - Sunday September 21

Chalk The Walk Wherever You Are
Multiple Locations
Daytona Beach Florida
Any Time Saturday or Sunday
Facebook Information Page

An action organized by Just Us Volusia, it was an invitation for people to create rainbow flags using chalk at locations throughout Daytona Beach and Volusia County as a response to the State of Florida painting over of the PULSE Nightclub Memorial Sidewalk in Orlando. The idea was to create more rainbows, more messages and reach more people throughout the community than a single action in one centralized space.
